I started triathlon in 2015 as a way to get into better shape. Humble beginnings at a local YMCA beginner triathlon class grew into a passion. The first race was a local sprint but a few months later I ran my first Olympic length. I enjoyed the workouts and the competitions but the most important aspect was the camaraderie with the other athletes. I had high hopes for the 2016 season; I scheduled 2 events per month with a Half Iron (Timberman) in August and a Full Ironman (Maryland) in October. It was a blast. 2017 was equally busy with a Half Iron (Patriot) in June, a full Ironman (Mont Tremblant) in August and many olympic and sprint races mixed in. The schedule did not let up in 2018 with two Half Iron (Patriot and Lake Placid), 1 Full Iron (Louisville) and a trip to USAT Nationals. Nothing committed for 2019, but likely races are Ironman UK, Ironman Connecticut 70.3, local sprints and olympics and a fall 70.3.
