I am 60 years old, married for 34 years with three adult children. I am a CPA who spent most of my career as a CFO and now serve as CEO for Retirement Communities. After turning 50 and being in fairly poor shape, I began running. Through training, I met a great group of fellow athletes, who convinced me to try triathlons in addition to running. Long story short, over the past ten years I have completed six fill Ironmans, a half dozen or so half Ironmans and numerous half and full marathons. Training for these events has become a major part of my life. My goal with competing has always been continuous improvement. Now that I am growing older, its challenging to get faster so my goal has shifted to performing the best I can and complete events that I participate in. It is so rewarding to inspire other individuals to attempt an event that they never thought was possible which is exactly where i started. One of the best parts of the triathlon experience is the friendships you develop with others that have the same experiences as you have.
