If you've never done a Ragnar Relay, I highly recommend it! It's a fun way to get in some good race experience under pressure, some race-paced training miles and time with a fun racing community. Ragnar is a 200 mile relay between 6-12 people on the team. This was a 12 person team running from the White Mountains to Hampton Beach in New Hampshire. Each runner runs 3 legs of the race.
Leg 1: Mileage was 1.24 miles STRAIGHT up a mountainside! It was held at a ski resort and it definitely got me the hill training for the week!
Leg 2: Mileage was 4.2. This was my best, race paced run. It was beautiful, mostly flat-ish and a lot of fun to run. About halfway through, though, it felt like I had a rock in my shoe. When I arrived at my exchange, I discovered it was BLISTERS!
Leg 3: My mileage should have been 8, but I got to 4.75 when my teammate took over for me due to my foot cramping trying to avoid the blisters. Running in the mountains is no joke, and I should have been more careful with the blistered foot.
All in all this is the best Ragnar I've run yet, and I can't wait to do it again!
