Was not ready at all for Masters Swimming season but had a pretty good performance.
I was not remotely in swimming shape for this meet and was coming off a tough week of business travel, but I was excited to get back up on the blocks, also I hate meters. There was a good turnout for this meet compared to last few years, but certainly not that competitive. Lots of first timers and distance swimmers. All my times were national qualifiers. Results:
50M Free: 27.82 (first overall, top 100 AG in the country, slow time for me)
100M Free: 1:02.33 (2nd overall, top 30 AG in country, went out too slow, way off my PR)
50M Breast: 35.59 (1st overall, 19th AG in country, big time PR)
50m Back: 35.07 (2nd Overall, 20th AG in country, big time PR)
50m Fly: SCRATCHED....no time for that nonsense lol. Really i wanted to do better in the 100 free (which i didn't) so i skipped this one.
Also my relay team had 2 top 10 national times in the 200 free and medley relays.
This was really just a tune up as we gear up for the state meet at the fastest pool in the world in Indianapolis....and then the next week i learned that it's the same weekend as my first ever marathon, so i'm just going to show up on sunday and finish my events for team points. Super disappointed as it wasn't supposed to be that weekend. Oh well. Hopefully I sneak in another meet in March.
